Context
Terrain analysis is a crucial task for architects, but it can be challenging to find reliable data sources. In Poland, most of the existing websites offer terrain data with an accuracy of +/- 3m, which is far from ideal. That’s why I decided to create a solution for some of the architects I know. I built an MVP that leverages the government website (geoportal) and GIS to generate 3D models of the terrain with an accuracy of 1m. This way, architects can have a more realistic and detailed view of the land they are working on.
Tech Stack
The web app is built with Flutter for Web.
API is a Kotlin Ktor containerized in Docker hosted on Heroku and AWS. Uses Cloudflare as CDN and Firewall.
The Launch
- SpaceScripting app was launched in 2021.
